CLTC is written out as “Certified in Long-Term Care.”  This is the designation name, and graduates in good standing are referred to as “designees.”  While that may sound awkward or tentative to you or your clients, it’s the standard as it cannot be used in any usage, context, or with a modifier that could be misunderstood as an individual’s “title” or “position.”  This is very similar to the CFP® usage guidelines.

Either should be followed, whenever possible, by the Registered Trademark R in a circle ® or “(R)” if the symbol is not available.
