CLTC is Founding Sponsor of NAIFA LECP

April 26th, 2019

Amber Pate, Executive Director of the CLTC® (Certification for Long Term Care) company announced that CLTC will be a founding sponsor of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) Limited and Extended Care (LECP) Planning Center, an online center that will empower industry stakeholders to successfully address the changing needs of consumers who need limited, extended or long-term care. NAIFA introduced the new long-term care (LTC) planning program in Chicago in March this year, at the Intercompany Long Term Care Insurance (ILTCI) Conference.

Recognizing the need for innovation, players in the extended care planning industries are united in its bid to become more relevant to their distributors and clients. The LECP Center will focus on ways to connect, grow, and learn from the best in the business. The center brings together a variety of entities that offer products and services that showcase the continuum of options for limited, extended and long-term care needs.

“CLTC is proud to be a part of NAIFA’s pioneering effort to raise the long-term care consciousness of both financial professionals and the public at large,” Pate explains. “We believe the move combines the strength of CLTC with its 20 years of training expertise and as the long-term care industry’s most widely-accepted professional designation with NAIFA’s continuing commitment to creating an environment for aging in America that includes thoughtful, informed planning that takes into account the most effective and efficient use of resources in addressing the risks and costs of long term care for all levels of society.”

The center will empower industry stakeholders to successfully address the changing needs of all consumers who need or wish to plan for short, extended or long-term care. It will do this by leveraging technology to its fullest to help financial professionals begin the much-needed conversation with clients about all stages of extended care planning.

CLTC's has been in partnership with NAIFA as both institutions actively took part in the multi-disciplinary LTC event that brought together thought leaders and LTC professionals for substantive discussions on issues affecting products and services in a growing LTC industry.

Pate adds, “Extended care planning is more critical than ever; it is a key component of asset protection. As the premier designation in the industry, CLTC appreciates the opportunity to be part of NAIFA’s efforts to raise consciousness of the needs and solutions for effective planning. “Together with NAIFA, we can educate professionals to confidently and competently assist clients in planning”, Pate adds.

Carroll Golden, NAIFA LEC Planning Center director explains that “the center expects to provide top-level educational opportunities. The Certification for Long Term Care (CLTC) designation indicates a professional who adheres to the highest standards in the industry."

“The NAIFA LECP is a ‘one-stop shop’ solution for all things relating to LTC and the needs of an aging population,” Golden said. “Through the power of a virtual, private online community, we will bring together solution and service providers, producers and thought leaders to network, share best practices and access research, training and expert advice on the latest trends and issues affecting the industry and consumers.”

Founded in 1890 as The National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU), NAIFA now has over 40,000 members throughout the US, making it the oldest, largest and most prestigious association representing the interests of insurance professionals from every Congressional district in the United States.

The Certification in Long-Term Care (CLTC) designation was created in 1999. It focuses on the discipline of extended care planning. It provides professionals the critical tools necessary to discuss the subject of longevity and its consequences on their client's family and finances.
