ELA
Partnership

The
Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification (CLTCC) is
often asked to make referrals to qualified elder law attorneys.
We have entered into a referral relationship with www.elderlawanswers.com
(ELA), we believe will help consumers better deal with long-term
care issues. ELA was created by attorney Harry Margolis,
a former member of the Board of Directors of the National
Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is generally acknowledged
to be an expert in issues effecting older Americans and
their families.
Elder
law attorneys, as the name implies, concentrate on issues
effecting older Americans. They include Medicare, Medicaid,
conservatorships, guardianships, and long-term care issues.
Many are members of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
While
many consumers hesitate to contact an attorney due to fears
about the cost, the failure to get the right legal advice
can be substantially more expensive. The complexity of Medicare
and Medicaid rules, for example, and the frequent changes
in how they are interpreted by public agencies, mean that
you would benefit from the advice of an attorney who specializes
in this field, who is impartial, and who represents your
interests. To do otherwise is akin to sailing without a
compass.
Free
advice, for example, from nursing home representatives, is
a gamble. It may be right, it may be wrong, or it may be
only partly right. Remember that nursing homes profit from
you paying as a private client rather than being covered
by Medicaid. Unlike other people who may or may not give
you good advice, an attorney can be held accountable for
failing to practice in accordance with professional and
ethical standards.
While
you can become a highly informed consumer by using resources
such as this Web site, interpreting this information for
your specific case requires a trained and experienced expert.
Our Web site does not provide legal advice but hopes to
help you become an informed consumer who will work with
qualified legal counsel to find the best solutions for your
situation.
CLTCC
strongly recommends that you visit this site www.elderlawanswers.com
if you are searching for an elder law attorney or have
questions regarding elder issues.
